Internet of Robotic Things

Abstract

Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT) is a new concept introduced for the first time by ABI Research. IoRT provides a dynamic actuation and is considered as the new evolution of IoT. This new concept will bring new opportunities and challenges, while providing new business ideas for IoT and robotics' entrepreneurs. In this work, we will focus particularly on two issues: (i) connectivity maintenance among multiple IoRT robots, and (ii) their collective coverage. Since robots can sense and interact with their environment. Therefore, integrate robots as a device in IoT is obvious. It was the need as an intelligent set of devices that can monitor events, fuse sensor data from a variety of sources, use local and distributed intelligence to determine a best course of action, and then act to control or manipulate objects in the physical world.
