Visual Impairment (CVI) is a disorder which is most common among children, and
it happens due to the damage to the visual pathways of the brain. It has become
the leading cause of childhood blindness. Latest research and available
diagnosis methods are clinical approaches, and the absence of an early
effective screening method is identified. A mobile application is introduced
from this research to detect the CVI conditions of the children between the
ages of 4 to 6 early. The detection is done under the 4 main characteristics of
CVI which are color preference, visual field preference, difficulties with
visual complexity and need for movement. Each characteristic has an activity
that consists of several steps. Under each activity a quiz is given to the
parents to get a better understanding of the visual behavior of the child.
Based on the results of the activities and the quizzes it determines whether
the user has a specific characteristic. Based on the 4 outcomes it determines
whether the user has a probability of CVI and if it exists the application
provides the guidelines to the parents regarding the necessary steps to follow.
