The study sought to examine how cultural background influence the academic performance of Agricultural Science students in senior secondary schools in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. A survey design was adopted for the study. Two hundred senior secondary two (SS2) Agricultural Science students were drawn by simple random sampling from four government owned schools in the council area. Three objectives and three hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Data were collected using constructed questionnaire. The instrument was validated by academic experts from the Department of Agricultural Education. A pilot study was conducted and a reliability coefficient of 0.78 was obtained using the Cronbach’s alpha method. The data collected were analyzed using the independent t-test of analysis at 0.05 level of significance.
