Abstract

Design for mechanical products can play an important role in minimizing environmental impacts by optimally using resources, reducing waste, and enhancing energy efficiency. This paper discusses strategies that designers can pursue in creating more sustainable products: material selection, energy-efficient design, and the integration of LCA tools into the design process. The implementation of these sustainable design principles creates significant opportunities for manufacturers to reduce the environmental footprint of mechanical products and contribute toward a greener future.
