IRJIET Journal Policies

International Research Journal of Innovations in Engineering and Technology (eISSN: 2581-3048) is a peer-reviewed journal that guarantees the highest standards of publication ethics regarding ethical issues, errors, and retractions. The Journal's editorial board is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the publications by preventing malpractices such as plagiarism, multiple submissions, and conflict of interest. The Journal is bound to COPE's ethical (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines) standards and its principles for dealing with acts of misconduct and pledging to investigate any misconduct complaints to ensure the integrity of research.

1. Authorship & Contributorship Policy

Authorship is restricted to individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research, including study design, data acquisition, analysis, or manuscript preparation. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to be accountable for its accuracy and integrity. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible contributors are included and that no inappropriate authors are listed. Individuals who contributed in a limited capacity, such as technical support or language editing, should be acknowledged but not listed as authors.

2. Originality & Plagiarism Policy

The journal requires all submissions to be original and unpublished work. Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism, including improper citation, copying, or self-plagiarism. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts found to contain significant similarity or unethical overlap will be rejected, and serious cases may lead to further actions in accordance with publication ethics guidelines.

3. Redundant & Duplicate Publication Policy

Authors must not submit manuscripts that are under review or published elsewhere. Duplicate submission, redundant publication, or fragmented reporting of the same study is considered unethical. If any part of the work has been previously published or presented, it must be clearly disclosed at the time of submission. Failure to disclose such information may result in rejection or retraction.

4. Data Access, Integrity & Retention Policy

Authors are responsible for maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the data presented in their manuscripts. They should retain original data and be prepared to provide it for editorial review if requested. Data should be preserved for a reasonable period after publication to support verification and reproducibility. Any manipulation or falsification of data is strictly prohibited.

5. Acknowledgment & Funding Disclosure Policy

All sources of financial or institutional support must be clearly acknowledged in the manuscript. Authors should disclose funding agencies, grant numbers, and any other support received during the research process. Proper acknowledgment of contributions from individuals or organizations that do not meet authorship criteria is also required.

6. Conflict of Interest Policy

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, or institutional relationships that could influence the research or its evaluation. Transparency in declaring conflicts of interest helps maintain trust in the publication process. If no conflicts exist, authors should explicitly state this in the manuscript.

7. Research Involving Animals Policy

Research involving animals must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional guidelines. Authors should confirm that necessary approvals were obtained from relevant ethics committees and that all procedures were conducted in accordance with accepted welfare standards. The journal reserves the right to request supporting documentation.

8. Safety & Hazard Compliance Policy

Authors must clearly identify any hazardous materials, chemicals, or procedures used in their research. All experiments should be conducted in compliance with established safety regulations and guidelines. Appropriate precautions and safety measures must be described to ensure responsible research practices.

9. Corrections, Retractions & Errors Policy

If significant errors or inaccuracies are identified in a published article, authors are expected to promptly notify the journal. Depending on the severity, the journal may issue a correction, corrigendum, or retraction. These actions are taken to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

10. Editorial Independence Policy

The journal maintains strict editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific merit, originality, and relevance of the manuscript. These decisions are not influenced by authors’ affiliations, funding sources, or publication fees.

11. Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and long-term preservation of published content. It supports ethical publishing practices and works closely with editors to prevent misconduct and maintain transparency.

12. Managing Editor Responsibilities

The Managing Editor oversees the editorial workflow, coordinates peer review, ensures timely communication, and upholds ethical standards. They are responsible for maintaining confidentiality and ensuring fair and unbiased processing of manuscripts.

13. AI Tools Usage Policy

Authors must disclose the use of artificial intelligence tools in the preparation of manuscripts. AI tools cannot be credited as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of the content, including any AI-assisted sections.

14. Misconduct Handling Procedure

The journal takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and follows a structured process for investigation. This may include contacting authors, reviewers, or institutions. Actions taken may range from manuscript rejection to retraction of published work, depending on the severity of the issue.

15. Retraction Policy

IRJIET may retract published articles in cases of proven research misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, unethical research practices, or significant errors that invalidate the results or conclusions. Retractions may be initiated by authors, editors, or institutions. Each retraction will be clearly identified, permanently linked to the original article, and accompanied by a detailed notice explaining the reason for retraction. The original article will remain accessible with a clear retraction label to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

16. Corrigendum Policy

A corrigendum is issued to correct minor errors identified in a published article that do not affect the overall scientific validity, results, or conclusions. Such errors may include typographical mistakes, author details, or minor data inaccuracies. Corrections are published promptly and linked to the original article to ensure clarity, accuracy, and transparency while preserving the integrity of the academic record.

17. Content Removal Policy

In rare and exceptional circumstances, the journal may remove published content due to legal obligations, ethical violations, or public safety concerns. Reasons may include court orders, defamation issues, or serious ethical breaches. In such cases, the removed content will be replaced with a formal notice stating the reason for removal, ensuring transparency while complying with legal and ethical requirements.

18. Appeal & Complaint Policy

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions or submit complaints regarding the editorial process, peer review, or publication ethics. Appeals must be supported by valid justification and will be reviewed independently and objectively by the editorial board. The journal ensures a fair, unbiased, and timely resolution process, and all decisions will be communicated clearly and transparently to the concerned parties.

19. Data & Reproducibility Policy

IRJIET encourages authors to provide sufficient methodological detail, datasets, and supporting materials to enable other researchers to replicate and verify the findings. Where applicable, authors should make data publicly available or provide access upon reasonable request. Promoting transparency and reproducibility strengthens the reliability, credibility, and scientific value of published research.

20. Ethical Oversight Policy

The journal maintains continuous ethical oversight throughout all stages of the publication process, including submission, peer review, and final publication. Editorial policies are regularly reviewed and updated to align with international best practices. Any suspected ethical issues are addressed promptly through established procedures to ensure compliance and uphold the integrity of the journal.

21. Intellectual Property Policy

Authors must ensure that all submitted content complies with applicable intellectual property laws and does not infringe upon the rights of others. Any use of copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, or extensive text excerpts, must be accompanied by proper permission and acknowledgment. The journal respects intellectual property rights and expects authors to adhere to legal and ethical standards.

22. Copyright & Licensing Policy

Authors retain the copyright of their published work. All articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation in any medium, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source. This licensing model supports open access principles and ensures maximum visibility and reuse of published research.

23. Repository Policy

IRJIET allows authors to deposit the final published version of their articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, and recognized academic platforms. Authors must ensure that proper citation and a link to the journal’s official publication are included. This policy supports wider dissemination, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly work.

24. Advertising Policy

The journal maintains a clear distinction between editorial content and advertising. Any advertisements are displayed in a manner that does not interfere with the scholarly content or influence editorial decisions. IRJIET does not endorse advertised products or services, and all advertising must comply with ethical and professional standards.
